Cairnsmore Nature Reserve can be found north of Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway.
There are a couple of different walks you can do from here but on this occasion I just stuck to the old railway line. In fact I didn't go very far at all really but instead watched and listened to the birds and did a little sketching. I think my dogs enjoy a slower paced walk sometimes too, more time to sniff new smells!
